| Haverigg Raft racing-this is an annual event which takes place on the Port Haverigg lagoon,to raise funds for Haverigg Inshore Rescue.Rafts are homemade,often consisting of only a couple of barrels and a plank of wood,also the teams can build their own and rivalry is very strong.The teams keep their rafts hidden away until the big day.the whole day has a busy carnival atmosphere,and it is usually a good fundraising effort so desperately needed by our Inshore Rescue team.
