Barnacle Goose-This bird visited our reserve during some heavy gales.He may have been blown of course from a large flock of this species who over-winter on the Solway Firth.
 
 
Eider ducks..These birds have a large breeding territory across the bay near Walney island.They make a mewing noise when calling to their mates.Usually several males in a group with one female.
 
 
Shelduck-One of the larger and more colourful of the duck species.To be seen in the late Autumn and winter period,along with the Eiders.
